This Privacy Policy applies to the activities of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Australia, Pty. Ltd.(ACN 089 365 300) ("MHIAU"). MHIAU's Privacy Policy is intended to represent industry best practice and comply fully with the Privacy Act 1988.
MHIAU recognizes that all personal information managed and used in its business activities must be handled and protected with the utmost care. Therefore, in addition to anything else provided in this Privacy Policy, MHIAU will adhere to the following:

1. Collecting Information from You
MHIAU will not collect or monitor any personal information about you without your consent. The only personal information we collect is what you tell us about yourself and information about how you use our website, for example by what pages you visit on our site and your IP address. If you contact us, we may keep a record of that contact.

MHIAU may provide personal information to a third party with the approval of each respective individual, consign the handling of personal information, or share personal information with a MHI group company to the extent that such personal information is required for the business purposes.
3. Possession of Personal Information
MHIAU possesses and will possess personal information including names, addresses, telephone numbers, FAX numbers, e-mail addresses, memberships, departments and titles of its customers, suppliers and other related companies.
If at any time you want to know exactly what personal information we hold about you, you are welcome to access your record by contacting us. Our file of your information will be made available to you within 14 days.
If at any time you wish to change personal information that is inaccurate or out of date, please contact us and we will amend this record. If you wish to have your personal information deleted, please let us know in the same manner as referred to above and we will take all reasonable steps to delete it unless we need to keep it for legal reasons.
MHIAU does not retain any personal information that is not required for business purposes.
4. Personal Information Management
MHIAU will take necessary and appropriate measures to ensure the security of the personal information possessed by it, and will endeavor to maintain the contents of such personal information as accurately and up-to-date as is necessary for its business purposes.
Your information is stored on secure servers that are protected in controlled facilities. We require our employees and data processors to respect the confidentiality of any personal information held by MHIAU. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot give an absolute assurance that the information you provide to us will be secure at all times. MHIAU will not be held responsible for events arising from unauthorised access to your personal information.
Please note also that MHIAU may use overseas facilities to process or back up its information. As a result, we may transfer your personal information to our overseas facilities for storage. However, this does not change any of our commitments to safeguard your privacy.

6. We will not ‘spam’ you
We may contact you at the email or other address that you provide to us in order to:

How to Handle Personal Information on the Website
1. Security in obtaining personal information
Where MHIAU obtains the personal information of an MHIAU customer from the Website, MHIAU may use the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and other encrypting means to protect the personal information inputted through a communications link. The SSL is a general technology used for security of communications on Webnet, which can encrypt the input data before it is transmitted to Internet and prevent the input data from being intercepted or tapped.
